Hardrock Diamond Drilling Ltd. is looking for an experienced Full-Cycle Bookkeeper to join our team on a part-time basis at our Penticton head office.
This is an established position currently requiring approximately two 8-hour days per week. For the right candidate, we are open to discussion for required hours. We are looking for someone who can independently manage the day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting functions of the business and work closely with management and our external accountants.
Responsibilities
- Full-cycle bookkeeping, including transaction entry and coding
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Accounts payable, including entering bills and preparing and processing vendor payments
- Accounts receivable, including invoicing, applying receipts and account follow-up
- Employee expense reimbursements
- Biweekly payroll coordination with our external payroll provider
- New hire and termination administration, including Records of Employment
- Workers' compensation reporting and remittances
- Preparation and filing of GST/HST returns and other recurring government filings
- Month-end reconciliations and journal entries
- Accruals and prepaid expense entries
- Loan and financing reconciliations
- Recording fixed asset purchases and disposals
- Preparation of periodic internal financial statements and reports
- Preparation of year-end information and working papers for our external accountants
- Responding to routine CRA and accountant inquiries
- Other bookkeeping and accounting-related duties as required
Qualifications & Experience
- 3–5+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping and general accounting principles
- Experience with Sage 50 or similar accounting software; Sage 50 experience is preferred
- Experience preparing GST/HST returns and handling government remittances
- Experience with month-end accounting and financial statement preparation
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage recurring deadlines
- Strong communication skills and professional judgment
- Experience working with an external accountant at year-end
- A high degree of integrity and discretion when dealing with confidential financial information and banking
A bookkeeping or accounting designation/certificate is an asset but is not required where the candidate has strong relevant experience.

- Hours are open for discussion
- Position is in-office at our Penticton location
Compensation
$30–$40 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Open to contractors as well.
