We are currently looking for a Spa Esthetician with a strong focus on relaxation massage to join our team.
This is a multi-service spa position. While relaxation massage will be an important part of your schedule, the ideal candidate will also be trained and comfortable providing additional esthetic services such as facials, manicures, pedicures, and other services within their education and experience.
This position is focused on spa and relaxation massage and is not being advertised as a Registered Massage Therapist position.
The Role
Our Estheticians are responsible for much more than performing a service.
You will create an experience that allows our guests to relax, feel cared for, and trust the professional looking after them.
We are looking for someone who combines strong technical skills with warmth, professionalism, attention to detail, and an understanding that consistency matters.
You should be comfortable moving between different types of spa services throughout your day while maintaining the same level of care and attention for every guest.
What You'll Do
- Provide professional relaxation massage services according to Melt's service protocols
- Perform additional spa and esthetic services based on your training, including facials, manicures, pedicures, body treatments, waxing, tinting and other Melt services as appropriate
- Conduct thorough guest consultations before services
- Review relevant health information, allergies, sensitivities, preferences, and potential contraindications before proceeding with treatment
- Modify, postpone, or decline a service when appropriate based on your training, scope, and Melt protocols
- Explain treatments and services clearly and professionally
- Provide appropriate home-care, skincare, and product recommendations when relevant to the guest
- Develop a strong understanding of Melt's complete service and retail offerings
- Help guests understand which treatments or services may best meet their goals
- Build relationships with returning guests and develop your personal clientele
- Work with Guest Services to communicate booking details, timing requirements, guest preferences, and other important information
- Maintain accurate guest notes and treatment information where required
- Set up and reset treatment rooms between appointments
- Ensure treatment rooms are appropriately stocked with the products, linens, tools, and supplies required for your services
- Monitor service inventory and communicate shortages to Management
- Follow proper cleaning, disinfection, sanitation, and infection-prevention procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and polished treatment environment
- Assist with opening, closing, laundry, stocking, and other spa-support responsibilities when required
- Complete services within the scheduled appointment time without compromising guest care
- Address guest concerns professionally and involve Management when appropriate
- Participate in training and continuing education
- Assist with training or supporting new team members when appropriate
- Work collaboratively with Guest Services, Estheticians, Management, and other service providers
- Contribute to the overall smooth operation and presentation of the spa
Who You Are
You understand that a great massage or spa treatment is not simply about completing a sequence of steps.
You pay attention to pressure, comfort, pacing, temperature, guest preferences, room presentation, and the many small details that determine how someone experiences their service.
You are comfortable working independently in the treatment room while remaining part of a larger team.
You take pride in your technical skills but are also open to learning Melt's service standards and protocols.
You understand the physical nature of providing massage and esthetic services and use good body mechanics and professional techniques to work safely and consistently.
Most importantly, you genuinely enjoy taking care of people.
Skills & Qualifications
- Completion of an Esthetics, Spa Therapy, Beauty Therapy, or comparable professional training program
- Professional education and hands-on training in relaxation massage
- Comfortable performing relaxation massage as a significant portion of your booked services
- Training in additional esthetic services such as facials, manicures, and pedicures
- At least one year of professional spa or esthetics experience is considered an asset
- Strong consultation and guest-service skills
- Understanding of service contraindications, sanitation, and professional hygiene standards
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to complete services within scheduled appointment times
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills
- Ability to manage a varied service schedule
- Professional verbal communication skills
- Caring, respectful, and guest-focused approach
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Reliable and punctual
- Open to learning new products, treatments, protocols, and systems
- Weekend availability is required
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
