Position Overview:
The Digital Marketing Coordinator is responsible for planning, creating, and delivering engaging digital communications that strengthen FOCA's brand, grow member engagement, and advance the organization's mission. Working across social media, web, email, video, photography, and print, this role brings FOCA's programs, advocacy, and environmental initiatives to life through compelling storytelling and strategic marketing.
As a key member of a small, collaborative team, the Digital Marketing Coordinator helps connect Ontario's waterfront communities with the information, resources, and advocacy they need while expanding FOCA's reach to new audiences. The successful candidate is a creative communicator who combines strong writing, design, and digital marketing skills with curiosity, initiative, and an eye for detail. They are equally comfortable developing content, analyzing performance, and identifying new opportunities to increase engagement and organizational impact.

DIGITAL MARKETING COORDINATOR

As FOCA's Digital Marketing Coordinator, you'll play a key role in elevating the organization's digital presence, strengthening member engagement, and sharing the stories that inspire Ontario's waterfront communities. From managing social media and website content to supporting digital campaigns, email marketing, and multimedia communications, you'll help connect more than 550 member associations and the 50,000 families they represent across the province.

The Federation of Ontario Cottagers' Associations) is a not-for-profit membership organization representing lake, cottage, camp, road, and rural waterfront resident associations across Ontario. Our members steward more than 15,000 kilometres of shoreline and 50,000 hectares of privately owned waterfront lands, from Kenora to Kingston and Lake Erie to Temagami.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute engaging digital content across FOCA's website, social media, email marketing, and other communications channels.
- Create compelling graphics, videos, photography, and written content that promotes FOCA's programs, advocacy, events, and member services.
- Maintain and optimize FOCA's website to ensure content is current, accessible, and aligned with organizational goals.
- Create marketing campaigns that increase member engagement, event participation, sponsorship, and organizational awareness.
- Monitor digital analytics and recommend improvements to strengthen audience growth and campaign performance.
- Implement FOCA's brand standards across all digital and print communications.
- Provide communications support for media relations, publications, events, and special projects.

Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, public relations, digital media, journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two or more years of experience in digital marketing, communications, or content creation.
- Experience managing websites, social media platforms, and email marketing campaigns.
- Proficiency with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (or similar design software), Microsoft Office, WordPress, Zoho One and social media management tools.
- Experience with photography, videography, and basic video editing.
- Familiarity with digital analytics (Google Analytics, Meta Insights, etc.), SEO, and CRM systems is an asset.
- Knowledge of Ontario's waterfront communities, environmental organizations, or the nonprofit sector is considered an asset.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement digital marketing and communications strategies that increase awareness, engagement, and support for FOCA's mission.
- Create high-quality content—including written communications, graphics, photography, video, and multimedia—for social media, the website, email campaigns, publications, and promotional materials.
- Manage FOCA's digital channels, including the website, social media platforms, and email marketing, ensuring content is current, engaging, and aligned with brand standards.
- Promote FOCA's programs, advocacy initiatives, events, membership, sponsorship opportunities, and fundraising campaigns through integrated marketing efforts.
- Monitor and analyze digital performance metrics, preparing reports and recommending strategies to improve reach, engagement, and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with staff, member associations, sponsors, and external partners to identify, develop, and share stories that showcase FOCA's impact across Ontario.
- Support media relations, publications, event communications, and other organizational communications projects as required.
- Stay current on emerging digital marketing trends, tools, and best practices to continuously enhance FOCA's communications and online presence.
Additional Duties: Perform other duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Pay: $3,000.00-$5,000.00 per month
