Job Title: Provincial Youth Outreach Worker

Full-time position (35 hours per week)

Contract Start date: July 20th, 2026

Reports to: Manager, Youth and Community Initiatives

Who we are looking for:

ACSA Community Services is hiring a Provincial Youth Outreach Worker to engage directly with diverse, at-risk, and marginalized youth (ages 12–25). Working within a provincial framework, this role focuses on building trusting relationships, identifying youth needs, and connecting young people and their families to vital resources, from mental health and employment programs to housing and education.

This is a youth-centred, community-rooted role, building genuine rapport and holding space with care to help strengthen the systems and relationships around young people in Chester Le, Bay Mills, Glendower, and the wider Steeles-L'Amoreaux area.

About the role:

· Conduct informal, strength-based assessments to identify immediate needs, strengths, risks, and personal goals regarding mental health, safety, shelter, and basic needs, utilizing the Changes of Stage model.

· Maintain accurate case files and outreach data for provincial reporting and participate in team meetings and training.

· Create and implement quarterly outreach plans, creating consistency and building rapport through community focused outreach. Identify key places of engagement throughout Steeles L’Amoreaux to connect with isolated or disengaged youth, with a specific focus on Chester Le, Bay Mills and Glendower.

· Design and deliver drop-in programs, workshops, and recreational activities shaped by youth voice and culture.

· Apply trauma-informed approaches to set guidelines and de-escalate conflict; respond to mental health and crisis situations, including safety planning.

· Lead initiatives on employment, volunteering, and food security, and help youth navigate complex systems, including OW, ODSP, legal, and housing systems.

· Proactively build strong partnerships with schools, police, health centers, and engage families/case managers as part of each youth's support network.

· Actively engage with the "systems around the youth", including families, guardians, school staff, and case managers, to build a holistic, unified, supportive network.

· Help maintain a safe work environment in line with Ontario OHSA guidelines.

About you:

· Knowledge of Positive Youth Development, Stages of Change, harm reduction, and trauma-informed practice.

· Deep understanding of the Steeles L’Amoreaux neighborhood context, including a strong awareness of the specific systemic barriers, localized resources, and diverse cultural identities present within the area.

· Exceptional time-management skills with a proven ability to work independently, prioritize competing tasks and manage a flexible schedule.

· Degree/diploma in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Community Development, Sociology, or equivalent experience.

· A current, satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check (required); Standard First Aid/CPR Level C and crisis intervention certification preferred or required upon hire.

· Reliable vehicle and valid Ontario Driver's License are considered a strong asset.

What we offer:

Full time employment with benefits after successful completion of six months probation

3-week vacation, 15 sick days, 2 float days 

Pay rate of $53,781.00 per annum
