Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Picker/Packer to join our warehouse team. This role involves selecting, packing, and preparing products for shipment, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced distribution environment. The ideal candidate will have warehouse experience and familiarity with heavy equipment operation, contributing to smooth warehouse operations and timely order fulfillment.

Responsibilities

Accurately pick orders using warehouse management systems and order picker equipment
Load and unload products utilizing heavy equipment such as forklifts, crane, clamp truck, or other heavy machinery
Operate warehouse equipment safely, including forklifts and clamp trucks, following all safety protocols
Prepare packages for shipping by packing items securely and labeling correctly
Maintain organization of inventory in storage areas for easy retrieval and stock control
Assist with shipping & receiving activities, including verifying incoming shipments and restocking supplies
Perform heavy lifting as needed to move products within the warehouse
Follow safety procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment
Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and improve workflow efficiency

Qualifications

Prior experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or construction is preferred
Mechanical knowledge or experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, or clamp trucks is highly desirable
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or order picking technology is a plus
Ability to perform heavy lifting and operate heavy machinery safely
Strong attention to detail for accurate order picking and packing
Good physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks involving lifting or moving heavy items
Prior experience with packing
Commitment to safety standards and teamwork-oriented attitude
