Hiring: Hair Salon Receptionist

Location: Pickering, Ontario Position: Salon Receptionist Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

We are looking for a friendly, professional, organized, and customer-focused Receptionist to join our hair salon team.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a busy salon environment, communicating with clients and stylists, managing appointments, handling payments, and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities & Duties

Greet and welcome clients in a friendly and professional manner
Answer incoming phone calls, messages, and customer inquiries
Book, reschedule, and confirm client appointments
Manage the salon appointment schedule and coordinate with stylists
Check clients in and out efficiently
Process cash, debit, and credit card payments accurately
Handle daily transactions and maintain accurate records
Explain salon services, pricing, and promotions to clients
Recommend appropriate services and retail products when needed
Assist with upselling salon services and products
Follow up with clients regarding appointments when required
Handle cancellations, late arrivals, and scheduling changes professionally
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception/front-desk area
Communicate client requests and important information to hairstylists and management
Assist with opening and closing front-desk procedures
Maintain client information and appointment records
Help manage inventory and notify management when products or supplies are running low
Assist with general administrative duties
Handle customer concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary
Follow salon policies, procedures, and customer-service standards
Work as part of a team and support salon staff during busy periods

Requirements

Previous receptionist, customer service, or salon experience is an asset
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Professional appearance and attitude
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Comfortable using computers, booking systems, and POS/payment systems
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Reliable, punctual, and responsible
Ability to work evenings and weekends when required
Sales and retail experience is an asset
Must be comfortable speaking with clients both in person and over the phone
