Parsons Brewing Company is looking for a passionate and creative person to join our team.
Set on six acres of land, Parsons Brewing Company is a rural farm brewery that has become a destination for visitors to Prince Edward County. At Parsons, every beer tells a story. Gaining inspiration from the rich County history, our family owned and operated farm brewery consists of three heritage lumber buildings that were disassembled, restored, and repurposed as our Bottle Shop, Taproom and Brewery.
The large harvest tables on our patio offer a beer-garden vibe, and inspire the spirit of community gatherings. We feature 18 Parsons beers on tap, rotating guest taps, a selection of locally-made wines, ciders and non-alcoholic beverages, and aim to provide something for everyone. In order to continue to expand our culinary program, we are looking for a sous chef who can embrace our community-vibe, champion local suppliers, and become involved in the development of our dining-experience. Alfresco dining in the bustling high season is what it is all about. Our Patio and Taproom can seat over 200 people in the summer months, during which we welcome large groups, families, walk-ins, etc. An unstructured playground for littles ones attracts families, and makes for the perfect setting to while away the hours. Our brewery is nestled between a field of barley and a fledgling hop yard. It doesn’t get better than this. Crafted Authentically, Brewed Sustainably and Shared Passionately.
We are looking for a passionate and skillful Cook with experience in executing a menu with strong Latin or South American influences. Prince Edward County is a rural destination with access to many farms. We champion our local farmers and suppliers. Our ideal menu is sustainably-minded and features local and seasonal ingredients.
Along with a passion for growth and learning, the successful candidate will have a quiet confidence that is required in this community, and must be a self-starter who can develop strong relationships with in our team.

Under the guidance of founders Samantha and Chris Parsons, you will report directly to our Head Chef, Sean Finnerty and have the unique opportunity to work a live fire asado grill.

KITCHEN MANAGEMENT/FOOD PREPARATION
- Excellent organizational skills – consistently monitors and maintains kitchen operations and cleanliness
- Strong technical skills
- Adhere to high standards of execution
- Adhere to sanitary standards – maintain a clean kitchen and back of house at all times, develop cleaning schedule for staff
- Adhere to food handling and health & safety procedures
- Maintain equipment and general cleanliness
- Prepare and cook all food to set standards
- Food preparation and portioning prior to service
- Maintain consistency in portion-control and plating
- Other duties as assigned
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
- 3 - 5 years experience grilling in a demanding kitchen
- Solid technical culinary foundation
- Strong Communication skills
- Experience with open fire cooking is an asset
- Valid Food Handler’s Certification
- Valid WHMIS Certification
