Position Summary:
As the Jr. Sous Chef, you will play a key role in supporting the Executive Chef in the daily
operations of the kitchen. You will be responsible for overseeing food preparation,
maintaining quality standards, and ensuring that our culinary team delivers an
exceptional dining experience for our guests. This position requires a creative and
passionate individual who thrives in a fast paced environment and is eager to contribute
innovative ideas to our menu.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing training, guidance, and support to ensure the highest
culinary standards.
-Lead the culinary team with hands on involvement in the kitchen
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and
quality.
- Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and storing food products in
compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, and cleanliness in the kitchen, adhering to
health regulations and safety protocols.
- Foster a collaborative and positive working environment within the kitchen team.
- Assist in cost control measures, including monitoring portion sizes and minimizing
waste.
- Help create and maintain standard operating procedures for kitchen operations.
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements:
-Hands on and present in side the kitchen
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience in a professional kitchen.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a kitchen environment, with at least 1 year in a
supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety standards, and kitchen
management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for locally sourced ingredients and a commitment to seasonal cooking.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
-Comfortable lifting up 50 lbs.
-Standing for extended periods during shifts
-Performing repetitive tasks, bending, lighting, and stairs
Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30-44 per week
