Full job description

Family Counselling Centre has an Occasional/Casual Receptionist position available to cover sick days, vacation, and personal appointments. This is an occasional position with minimal regularly scheduled shifts. The position is responsible for providing a high level of customer service to our clients in a very busy office environment.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Ability to multi-task effectively by answering multiline phones, greeting clients, and scheduling appointments.
Ability to accurately make bank deposits, prepare fee agreements, and scheduling of client surveys.
Proficient in typing with solid working knowledge and experience in the use of computer programs and databases.
Excel in organization and time management skills and ability to prioritize workload.
Function efficiently in a fast paced and multi-tasking environment while remaining calm under pressure.
Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to relate to a diverse client base, empathetic to varying backgrounds while ensuring confidentiality.
Ability to maintain a strong sense of respectfulness, sensitivity, and integrity.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent and several years of reception/secretarial experience
Solid working knowledge, comfort and proficiency typing, using the computer with various database systems.
Exceptional organizational, time management, communication, administrative and interpersonal skills required.
Ability to speak French or the commitment to learn conversational French.
A current satisfactory Criminal Reference check, including a Vulnerable Sector check or the ability to obtain one.
