Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant (Kitchen/Butchery) to join our dynamic food service team. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced culinary environment while contributing to the overall success of our establishment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook dishes (ingredients, garnishes, sauces, dressings) according to established recipes.
Prepare and set up for butchery (marinades, sausages, prepared products) according to established recipes.
Control the quality of food (taste, temperature, freshness).
Portion and package dishes.
Ensure stock rotation by applying the FIFO method (first in, first out).
Maintain rigorous cleanliness of the work area, equipment, and storage zones.
Wash the dishes used during the shift according to standards (MAPAQ).
Strictly apply the standards of health, safety, and food hygiene (MAPAQ).

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar position.
Training: Diploma in professional studies (DEP) in institutional cooking or equivalent (an asset).
Certifications: Valid food hygiene and safety certification.
Skills: Excellent mastery of cutting techniques, cooking methods, and knives.
Attributes: Good time management, teamwork spirit, and punctuality.
Physical condition: Ability to stand for long periods and lift loads (up to 22 kg / 50 lb).
