Company Introduction:

Northcott Lodge Nursing Home is a 73-bed long term care facility located in the town of Ponoka in central Alberta. We are currently looking for casual Cooks to work in our kitchen.

Responsibilities:

Assist in preparing meals.

Requirements:

Training and/or experience in the area of safe food handling an asset.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Positive, gentle, and calm attitude.
Experience with modified diets an asset.

Job Duties:

Prepare, season, and cook food as directed, meeting dietary requirements where required
Follow recipes and presentation specifications
Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Clean and maintain station in practicing good safety and sanitation
Oversee kitchen operations
Maintain inventory and record of food, supplies, and equipment
Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes

Additional Duties:

Recording food temperature
Preparing reports

COVID-19 precaution(s):

Remote interview process
Personal protective equipment provided or required
Plastic shield at work stations
Temperature screenings
Social distancing guidelines in place
Virtual meetings
Sanitizing, disinfecting, or cleaning procedures in place

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $20.02-$22.87 per hour

Experience:

Cooking: 1 year (preferred)
