Full job description

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Starting Wage: $18.50 per hour
Relief Driver Rate: $22.06 per hour for all hours worked performing driving duties.

Hertel's Meats Ltd. is looking for a reliable and hardworking individual to join our team as a Relief Driver / Packaging Labourer. This position primarily works in our Packaging Department and provides relief coverage for our delivery drivers during vacations, absences, and other operational needs.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a variety of work and wants to develop new skills within a stable, growing company.

What You'll Do

Packaging Duties

Package meat products.
Label, inspect, and prepare products for shipment.
Maintain quality, food safety, and sanitation standards.
Assist with general production and packaging duties as required.
Keep the work area clean and organized.
Follow all company food safety, sanitation, and health and safety procedures.

Relief Driver Duties

Provide relief coverage for delivery drivers during vacations, absences, and other operational needs.
Safely operate company delivery vehicles to complete deliveries.
Load and unload products for delivery.
Complete delivery paperwork accurately.
Provide professional and courteous customer service to customers.
Conduct basic pre-trip inspections and report any vehicle concerns.

Qualifications

Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs. on a regular basis.
Comfortable working in a refrigerated food production environment.
Dependable, punctual, and safety-focused.
Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
