Bay of Fundy Brewing Co. is seeking a Head Brewer / Lead Brewer to oversee brewing operations at our destination brewery located on the shores of the Cornwallis River in Port Williams, Nova Scotia.
Our brewery features a 20-barrel brewhouse with an on-site taproom and seasonal beer garden, producing beer for our taproom, wholesale partners, and NSLC distribution. With a small but passionate team of 5–10 staff depending on the season, we are focused on producing high-quality beer while continuing to grow our brand across Nova Scotia.
This role is ideal for an experienced brewer ready to take ownership of brewing operations, contribute creatively to new beer development, and help guide the brewery’s growth over the coming years.
Equipment
The brewery operates a 20-barrel brewhouse with on-site fermentation and brite tanks, along with a canning line for packaged product, producing beer for taproom sales, NSLC distribution, and wholesale accounts.
Position Overview
The Head Brewer will oversee all brewing and production operations in collaboration with the General Manager. Core brand recipes are established, and training with the outgoing brewer can be provided to ensure a smooth transition.
The successful candidate will maintain quality and consistency across our core brands while bringing new ideas and innovation to our seasonal and specialty lineup.
Key Responsibilities
Brewing & Production
- Lead all brewing operations on our 20-barrel brewhouse
- Maintain consistency and quality across all core brands
- Manage fermentation, cellaring, and packaging
- Operate and maintain Cask canning line and packaging systems
- Oversee yeast management and quality control practices
Operations & Planning
- Manage ingredient ordering and production scheduling
- Maintain inventory of raw materials and packaging supplies
- Ensure brewing equipment is maintained and operating properly
- Work with the General Manager on production planning and distribution needs
Innovation & Brand Growth
- Develop seasonal and specialty beers
- Collaborate on limited releases and collaboration brews
- Help grow our presence within NSLC and wholesale channels
- Contribute ideas to enhance the brewery and seasonal beer garden experience
Team & Community
- Work collaboratively with the General Manager and taproom staff
- Represent the brewery at events, festivals, and promotional opportunities as needed
- Help foster a positive team culture within the brewery and taproom

- High Tide IPA
These beers currently have distribution in the NSLC, and we are looking to expand our presence while continuing to innovate with seasonal and limited releases.
Qualifications
- Previous professional brewing experience required
- Experience operating canning lines and packaging systems
- Strong understanding of brewing processes and quality control
- Ability to manage production scheduling and inventory
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Team-oriented mindset and ability to collaborate with taproom and management staff
- Passion for craft beer and the brewing community
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $50,000 – $55,000 annually
