We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented team lead to join the Meridian 125W Team at our Health Canada licensed cannabis cultivation facility in Powell River, British Columbia. As Post-Harvest Manager, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day management of staff assigned to post-harvest activities, ensuring the highest quality and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of 8-12 trimmers to maximize throughput, while maintaining quality standards, under the guidance of the senior operations staff.
- Train new trimming staff on Meridian’s methods, providing constructive feedback when necessary to correct poor technique.
- Accurately track operational performance utilizing Meridian’s data collection system.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary working environment by performing regular cleaning and sanitation activities in post-harvest rooms and other areas.
- Keeping a strict separation of clothes and shoes worn on-site from clothing worn outdoors. Laundry is performed on-site for site specific clothing.
- Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with team members, ensuring tasks are completed and seeking direction when needed.
- Strictly adhere to and enforce all regulatory requirements under the Cannabis Act and Regulations, as well as the company's Standard Operating Procedures.
Requirements:
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- Previous experience in cannabis cultivation or a related agricultural setting is not required
- A willingness to learn and an open mind to feedback
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment and perform strenuous, repetitive tasks as needed
- Commitment to upholding the highest standards of quality and compliance with regulatory requirements
