Seasonal Equipment Operator / Yard Labourer
4-Day Work Week | 12-Hour Shifts | Potential for Full-TimeA&S Scrap Metal is currently seeking a motivated and reliable Seasonal Equipment Operator / Yard Labourer to join our team. This position works in a fast-paced scrap and recycling yard environment and offers the potential to transition into full-time employment for the right candidate.We offer a consistent 4-day work week with 12-hour shifts, providing a stable schedule and extended time off.Wage:$20–$25 per hour, based on experience.Key Responsibilities:

Prepare end-of-life vehicles for crushing
Drain vehicle fluids (fuel, oil, coolant, etc.) following environmental regulations
Remove tires, batteries, and other components
Bale scrap materials using baling equipment
Operate equipment including balers, excavators, loaders, skid steers, forklifts, and screening equipment
Wrap and cable loads securely for transport
Help prepare and stage loads for shipping
Sort and organize materials throughout the yard
Perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
Follow all company safety and environmental procedures

Qualifications:

Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (required)
Experience operating balers, excavators, loaders, skid steers, forklifts, or screening equipment is an asset
Experience securing and preparing loads for transport is an asset
Mechanical or automotive experience is an asset
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Physically fit and capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Strong work ethic, reliable, and safety-focused
