Full job description

Lighthall Vineyards is seeking an enthusiastic individual to work alongside the retail team throughout the prime visitor season (June – September/October). Potential to assist during harvest available for the right candidate. Perfect for students or the Mon-Fri worker.

The ideal candidate is friendly and coachable with a customer service mindset. Previous experience, conversational French, or WSET certification is an asset but training available. We are willing to train you, so if you've wanted to serve but don't know where to start come see us!

Duties
· Set up retail and tasting space for day including wine, merchandise, and preparing cheese samples - ensuring working space is neat and tidy
· Greet and engage guests as they enter the building. Check IDs as necessary
· Present wine and cheese tasting flights to guests through a 1:1 presentation while assisting up to 3 other groups. You will be trained on the product!
· Pour accurate amounts of wine for by the glass purchases
· Washing and polishing glassware
· Discussing the wine, cheese, and other related topics with guests.
· Process retail transactions

· Potential to assist in production (bottling, labeling, etc.)
· General housekeeping of retail space; all staff share general cleaning duties
· May be required to carry up to 40lbs (wine boxes, trays of glassware, etc) - Modifications available for medical reasons.

Requirements
· Current Smart Serve Certification is mandatory - can get after hire date
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain flexible when daily tasks change
· Must be available to work weekends and holidays between the hours of 9am – 6pm. Schedule will be as consistent as possible but can be be flexible for the right candidate
· Must be able to meet Lighthall Vineyards health and safety standards while on the job.
· Must be able to adequately perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodations
· Must be legally allowed to work in Canada and handle alcohol (18+)

Compensation
$18 - $20 per hour paid out on a weekly basis. Pay is based on previous experience, education, and skills. Tips are pooled among the hospitality staff and distributed based on hours worked and paid out alongside regular pay each week.
Bonuses include free merch, cheese, and a great employee discount.

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 6.0 – 20.0 per week
