The Team
The Prince Rupert Law Courts team is a dedicated group of nine professionals providing essential registry and in-court services to support the justice system. This team plays a critical role in promoting access to justice through its commitment to efficiency, fairness, and service excellence. The Role
As a Court Clerk, you will play a key role in supporting the justice system by providing court services and administrative support within the Registry to all levels of the Court in the province. You will have pre-court, in-court, and post court duties responsibilities including preparing and reviewing court documents, recording proceedings, and ensuring accurate case file management, as well as providing front counter court services. In his role there you will collaborate with judges, lawyers, justice partners, and the public to ensure accurate case documentation, adjudication support, and seamless court operations.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED).
- Minimum of two years’ administrative support or customer service experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum of one-year previous work experience in keyboarding, data entry, word processing, and working with standard computer applications and software programs (e.g., Windows, MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Keyboard speed of 40 words per minute.
Valid B.C. drivers’ licence.

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
- Experience in court programs and applications (e.g., JUSTIN, CEIS, ARC, CTAS, CCD).
- Experience as a Court Clerk and/or Registry Clerk.
One year of previous work experience in a legal environment.
