MAKING AN IMPACT
The Senior Marketing Manager, Quebec and French Canada leads the strategy and execution of French-language marketing efforts, with a focus on delivering effective and culturally relevant campaigns for Quebec audiences. This role is responsible for developing and overseeing integrated advertising campaigns across digital and traditional channels, both French first and French adaptations, from initial strategy through to performance tracking and optimization, in close partnership with the Director of Advertising.
You’ll act as the senior lead for French-language marketing, ensuring all communications align with brand strategy, tone and positioning, and resonate with francophone audiences. This includes overseeing the review and approval of French-language content, and continuously improving quality and processes.
As a people leader, you’ll manage and mentor a Marketing Specialist while partnering closely with internal stakeholders and external agencies. You’ll provide strategic advice, align teams around shared priorities and help identify opportunities to strengthen the organization’s impact with Quebec and French Canadian audiences.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Lead Quebec advertising strategy, execution and performance

Lead the strategic development, execution, and evaluation of integrated Quebec-first, French-language advertising campaigns in support of fundraising, mission, and brand priorities

Translate business objectives into insight-driven advertising strategies tailored to Quebec audiences, ensuring cultural relevance and effectiveness

Develop and lead creative and media briefs, manage briefing processes with internal stakeholders and external agencies

Lead the French adaptation of national campaigns to ensure they are relevant to Quebec audiences

Oversee campaign execution across traditional and digital channels, including but not limited to TV, CTV, paid social, digital, radio, print and OOH

Manage agency relationships, budgets, timelines and production processes

Working with the advertising and performance marketing team, evaluate campaign performance, ROI and optimization opportunities and provide actionable recommendations

Identify and champion French-first advertising and marketing opportunities aligned with CCS’ strategic priorities, working in close partnership with the Director of Advertising to ensure Quebec and French Canada audiences are considered early in campaign planning, not only through adaptation

Partner with Performance Marketing, Data & Analytics and Digital teams to surface French-specific data and insights, translating findings into actionable recommendations that inform campaign strategy and audience targeting for Quebec and French Canada
Lead Brand stewardship and French-language Marketing review

Act as the brand guardian for French Canada, ensuring all marketing communications align with CCS brand strategy, tone and positioning

Review and approve translated marketing materials (e.g. emails, direct mail, collateral etc) to ensure there is alignment with brand voice and messaging strategy, clarity and effectiveness for francophone audiences and Quebec cultural relevance

Work closely with the Translation, French Communications and French digital content teams to continuously improve processes and quality of French-language output

Identify risks or gaps in messaging and proactively recommend improvements
Team leadership, stakeholder management and strategic counsel

Manage and mentor one direct report (Marketing Specialist)

Act as trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, providing marketing and advertising counsel

Collaborate cross-functionally across Brand, Communications, Fundraising, Mission and digital teams to align priorities

Bring forward issues with clear recommendations and solutions, demonstrating strong ownership and critical thinking

QUALIFICATIONS:

Undergraduate degree, with a specialization in Marketing or equivalent work experience

More than 5 years of working experience in similar field in progressively more important positions

Strong track record in developing, managing and implementing advertising campaigns across all channels, from briefing through to post-campaign reporting and analysis

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including the day-to-day management of external agencies

Highly effective project management, multi-tasking and time management skills to meet tight deadlines

Deep understanding of brand strategy and creative development

Experience reviewing and refining French marketing/communications materials
-
Experience working cross-functionally in a national organization

Up to date knowledge and strong interest in social media, online sources and ability to keep connected with trends in traditional and digital media and marketing

Hands on experience with digital advertising tools such as Google ads, Google analytics and Meta ads is an asset

Highly autonomous; able to identify issues and bring forward solutions proactively

Strong written and oral communication and stakeholder management skills
-
Ability to manage up effectively and keep people leader updated with clear updates on project status and priorities, proactively surface risks and challenges

Excellent judgment and ability to balance competing priorities

Bilingualism (French/English) is required due to the organization’s nationwide operations and the need for effective communication across various regions.
