Responsibilities:

What does a typical day look like as an Health, Safety, Environment and Security Coordinator?

Collaborate with the leadership team and employees to promote a strong occupational health and safety culture;
Organize and lead Health and Safety Committee meetings and follow up on corrective actions;
Participate in the management of workplace incident and accident claims;
Conduct inspections, audits, and site visits to verify compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and procedures;
Participate in the implementation and continuous improvement of health, safety, environment, and security (HSES) programs;
Support and advise managers and employees on HSES matters;
Monitor occupational health and safety, environmental, and security management systems;
Serve as the main point of contact with CNESST and regulatory agencies;
Conduct or coordinate investigations and analyses of incidents, accidents, and non-conformities;
Develop, update, and test emergency response plans;
Identify risks and recommend preventive solutions tailored to operational needs;
Track corrective and preventive actions;
Develop and deliver health and safety training programs;
Establish performance indicators and prepare monitoring reports;
Participate in the development and implementation of the environmental action plan;
Ensure compliance with environmental requirements and standards applicable to port operations;
Contribute to maintaining and improving performance under the Green Marine program;
Perform any other related duties.

Qualifications:

To be successful as an Health, Safety, Environment and Security Coordinator, you must have:

College diploma (DEC) in Occupational Health and Safety or a related technical field;
Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a similar role;
Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety laws and regulations;
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong computer skills;
Bilingualism (French and English), both spoken and written: Given the diversity of our team and the need to communicate with local, national, and international clients and partners, proficiency in both French and English is required;
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment and meet deadlines;
Strong autonomy, attention to detail, and rigor;
Excellent organizational and analytical skills;
Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities;
Excellent communication and customer service skills;
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new applications and technologies;
Demonstrated motivational and collaborative leadership.
