Financial Controller – CEC Auto Group

Key Responsibilities

As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities across the organization.

Your responsibilities will include:

Oversee the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and month-end closing entries;
Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, management reports, and financial analyses;
Develop annual budgets, financial forecasts, and monitor overall financial performance;
Manage cash flow and ensure effective treasury management;
Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets;
Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards, tax regulations, and all applicable financial reporting requirements;
Coordinate year-end activities with external auditors and financial institutions;
Supervise and mentor the accounting team while promoting best practices and continuous improvement;
Support senior management with financial analysis, strategic planning, and key business decisions;
Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and increase operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
CPA designation is considered an asset;
Minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience in a Financial Controller or senior accounting leadership role;
Previous experience supervising an accounting team;
Strong knowledge of the full accounting cycle and financial statement preparation;
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or other ERP systems;
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills;
Strong leadership, communication, and time-management abilities;
Experience in the automotive or distribution industry is considered an asset.

Principales responsabilités

À titre de Contrôleur financier, vous serez responsable de l'ensemble des activités financières et comptables de l'entreprise.

Vos responsabilités comprendront notamment :

Superviser le cycle comptable complet, incluant les comptes fournisseurs, les comptes clients, la paie, les conciliations bancaires et les écritures de fin de mois;
Préparer les états financiers mensuels et annuels ainsi que les rapports destinés à la direction;
Produire les budgets annuels, les prévisions financières et les analyses de performance;
Assurer une gestion efficace de la trésorerie et effectuer le suivi des flux de trésorerie;
Mettre en place et maintenir des contrôles internes efficaces afin de protéger les actifs de l'entreprise;
Veiller au respect des normes comptables canadiennes ainsi que des exigences fiscales et réglementaires;
Coordonner les dossiers de vérification avec les auditeurs externes et les institutions financières;
Superviser et accompagner l'équipe de comptabilité en favorisant les meilleures pratiques;
Participer activement aux projets stratégiques et formuler des recommandations financières à la direction;
Identifier des opportunités d'amélioration continue afin d'optimiser les processus comptables et financiers.

Profil recherché

Baccalauréat en comptabilité, en finance ou dans un domaine connexe;
Titre CPA (un atout);
Minimum de 5 à 8 années d'expérience dans un poste de contrôleur financier ou de gestion financière;
Expérience en supervision d'une équipe comptable;
Excellente connaissance du cycle comptable complet et des états financiers;
Maîtrise d'Excel et d'un ou plusieurs logiciels comptables (QuickBooks, Sage, Xero ou ERP);
Solides compétences analytiques, organisationnelles et en résolution de problèmes;
Leadership, autonomie et capacité à gérer plusieurs priorités dans un environnement en évolution;
Une expérience dans le secteur automobile ou de la distribution constitue un atout.
