About the Role
We are seeking a full time Accounts Payable / Payroll Coordinator to join our team in a fast-paced Oil & Gas services environment. Reporting to the Controller, this position is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable and payroll while maintaining strict confidentiality and attention to detail.
The successful candidate will manage accounts payable and payroll processing for approximately 68. This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a deadline-driven environment and enjoys taking ownership of their work.
Key Responsibilities
· Process vendor invoices - verifying invoice accuracy, coding, approvals, and supporting documentation
· Prepare and process EFT and cheque payments
· Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
· Reconcile employee timecards for accuracy and completeness
· Process bi-weekly payroll and payroll adjustments
· Complete credit card reconciliations
· Manage company fuel cards
· Assist with month-end accounting activities and reconciliations
· Assist with employee benefit packages and offboarding checklists
· Maintain accurate records and documentation
· Ensure compliance with Company policies, payroll legislation, and internal controls
· Work closely with the Controller and other departments to ensure timely and accurate financial processing and record keeping
Qualifications & Experience
· Minimum 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable and Payroll, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry
· Proficiency with Sage 50 is required
· Experience processing payroll for both hourly and salaried employees
· Strong understanding of payroll legislation and Alberta employment standards
· Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
· Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
· Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
· High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
