Position Summary
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth through proactive sales and client relationship management while ensuring the successful planning, execution, and profitability of group and transient business for the hotels. This position executes necessary sales activities, financial performance, and guest satisfaction, ensuring company standards, operational excellence, and revenue objectives are consistently achieved.
The role serves as a key liaison between clients and hotel departments, managing accounts from initial lead generation throughout the sales process and follow-up. The Regional Sales Manager is also responsible for maintaining operational standards, controlling costs, and contributing to the overall sales and marketing strategy of the hotels.

SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Strong understanding of hotel operations, sales processes, and hospitality service standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Property Management Systems (PMS), Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, and sales tracking software.
- Ability to analyze financial information, and sales/operational reports.
- Excellent customer service, relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and maintain effective relationships with clients, guests, employees, and stakeholders.
- Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
- Diploma or post-secondary education in Hospitality Management, Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Several years of progressive experience in hospitality, sales, or hotel management.
- Experience managing client accounts, event planning, and revenue generation.
- Ability to move throughout the property, including function spaces and guest areas.
- Ability to travel locally for sales calls, networking events, trade shows, and client meetings as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales, Business Development, and Revenue Generation
- Identify, develop, and convert sales leads to achieve revenue, occupancy, and sales targets for both transient and group business.
- Manage and grow existing client accounts while actively soliciting new business opportunities.
- Conduct sales calls, networking activities, site inspections, presentations, and client meetings.
- Prepare proposals, contracts, correspondence, and sales documentation in a timely and professional manner.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity and recommend strategies to maximize revenue and market share.
- Participate in trade shows, sales blitzes, industry events, and community initiatives to promote the property.
- Contribute to the development and execution of the property's Sales and Marketing Plan.
- Maintain an effective lead tracking and follow-up system to maximize conversion opportunities including daily parking lot checks (in Delphi).
- Promote all hotel facilities, services, packages, and special promotions.
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for group, and corporate clients throughout the sales and event process.
- Develop long-term client relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.
- Gather and communicate guest feedback to improve service delivery and client satisfaction.
- Host client events and entertainment activities where appropriate to strengthen business relationships.
- Ensure all client requirements and booking details are effectively communicated to operational departments.
Financial Management and Administration
- Manage departmental budgets, forecasts, labor costs, and operating expenses.
- Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to improve profitability.
- Process payroll-related functions, including verification of hours worked and gratuity distribution where applicable. Process AP invoices.
- Complete month-end and year-end reporting, budgeting, inventory counts, and administrative requirements.
- Maintain accurate records, contracts, reports, and sales documentation.
- Ensure inventory and purchasing activities align with budgetary and operational requirements.
Operational Excellence
- Establish and communicate clear departmental goals aligned with company objectives.
- Monitor key performance indicators and implement strategies to improve results.
- Encourage innovation, accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
- Make informed decisions through collaboration, data analysis, and operational insight.
- Participate in community relations activities and represent the hotel professionally within the marketplace.
