Full job description

Victoria Station Dental (Red Deer, Alberta) is looking for a reliable, honest, and hard working dental administrator (part-time position: Mon 8-4PM and Tue 12-8PM) to join our wonderful team!

We are locally owned and operated by Dr. Jenny Doerksen. We are focused on family dentistry with a strong hygiene program. This position includes one day shift and one evening shift. No weekends.

Our office is small but well-established and moderately busy with friendly staff members. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has some dental experience and/or looking to switch into dental career as we can provide training for the right candidate. The ideal candidate should have strong communication and organization skills, self-directed behaviours, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient services. Responsibilities

Greet patients and manage front desk operations with professionalism and courtesy
Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar efficiently
Handle multi-line phone systems to answer inquiries, confirm appointments, and provide information
Maintain accurate patient records using electronic dental records system
Verify insurance information and process billing and payments
Assist with patient check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring a positive patient experience
Manage correspondence, including emails and other communication channels
Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and document management
Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless patient flow and office operations

Preferences:

Previous dental office experience or medical office experience is highly preferred, but not necessary.
Familiarity with dental practice management software
Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry
Experience as a dental receptionist or in a front desk administrative role in a healthcare setting
Proficiency in office systems including multi-line phone systems, electronic medical records, and general office equipment
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities effectively
Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor
Prior experience working in a fast-paced environment is advantageous
