Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing exceptional customer service and skilled in food and beverage preparation. This role involves creating a welcoming environment for customers while efficiently handling orders, payments, and food safety protocols. Previous experience in the food industry, especially as a barista, is preferred but not required, as training will be provided. The position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food service, cash handling, and customer engagement in a fast-paced setting.

We prefer those who are looking for long-time employment, not just a summer job, as it takes time to train and learn the ways of how we work.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other drinks according to company standards
Operate POS systems for order processing and cash handling
Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are maintained during food preparation and serving
Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently using cash registers or POS systems
Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, taking orders, and addressing inquiries or concerns
Maintain cleanliness of the work area, including equipment, counters, and dining spaces
Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including handling food items safely and efficiently
Manage time effectively to serve multiple customers during peak hours without compromising quality or service speed
Follow all health and safety regulations related to food handling and sanitation

Experience

Previous experience as a Barista or in the food industry is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for qualified candidates
Familiarity with POS systems, especially Micros POS, is advantageous
Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse clientele
Basic math skills for cash handling, making change, and processing transactions accurately
Experience in serving, food preparation, food safety, and cashiering is beneficial
Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
