Permanent, Full-Time

Location: Edmonton or Calgary

Pay Range: $55,371 - $69,175

Closes: June 5th, 2026

Work Location: This role is eligible for hybrid – this means you’ll have the flexibility of working from home and in the office, on a scheduled rotation once probation requirements have been met. Until then, the successful incumbent will be expected to work on-site, full-time.

We’re looking for an Underwriting Assistant with a strong foundation in commercial lines insurance.

As an Underwriting Assistant, you’ll support the Commercial Property underwriting team by processing policies, assessing routine risk, and providing service to brokers. You’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate policy administration while contributing to strong broker relationships and service delivery.

Have strong attention to detail and take pride in getting things right the first time.
Are confident processing policies, handling endorsements, and managing high-volume administrative work.
You have (or are working toward) your CIP designation — or are interested in pursuing it.
Want to leverage your leadership skills for good – like actively supporting SGI CANADA’s culture, expanding your own learning and supporting your colleagues as they do the same.

Typically, these skills are gained through a one-year certificate in a relevant field of study such as Business, specializing in Insurance & Risk Management, and 1 – 2 years of directly related experience in commercial lines.
