The Opportunity
We're hiring an engaging Animation & Digital Art Instructor to teach live online classes for middle school students, with an immediate focus on summer camps and ongoing classes continuing into the school year.
The role begins with 5-day summer camps running Monday through Friday from June through the end of August. From September onward, the role continues with weekly classes and courses through the school year.
Topics include cartoon character drawing, nature drawing, animation fundamentals, Procreate, FlipaClip, Toon Boom, Blender, anime, and fantasy art.
We're looking for an instructor who can make digital art and animation feel approachable, creative, and fun — especially for students who are just getting started.
Schedule
- Summer (June–August): 5-day camps running Monday–Friday, during morning, afternoon, and early evening Eastern Time. Candidates must have consistent availability Monday through Friday from June through the end of August.
- School year (September onward): Weekly classes and courses, with flexible scheduling based on instructor availability and student demand.
What You'll Do
- Teach live, interactive online summer camps, weekly classes, and multi-week courses for middle school students
- Lead 5-day summer camps and ongoing school-year courses covering topics such as cartoon character drawing, nature drawing, animation fundamentals, anime, and fantasy art
- Guide students through hands-on projects using software such as Procreate, FlipaClip, Toon Boom, and Blender
- Break down drawing and animation concepts clearly in age-appropriate, beginner-friendly ways
- Support students through the creative process, from sketching and storyboarding to finished animations and illustrations
- Teach 1:1 and small-group classes of approximately 2–4 students
- Create a positive, structured, and encouraging virtual classroom
- Adapt lessons to each student's level, learning style, and interests
- Provide thoughtful feedback that helps students build confidence and skill
What We're Looking For
- Experience teaching drawing, illustration, animation, or digital art to children and/or teens
- Experience with one or more of the following: Procreate, FlipaClip, Toon Boom, Blender
- Familiarity teaching introductory topics such as cartoon characters, nature drawing, anime, and fantasy art
- Prior experience teaching, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, or working with children and/or teens
- Confident and engaging on camera
- Clear, warm communicator
- Reliable, organized, and professional
- Comfortable helping beginner students who may need extra support
- Ability to make art and animation fun, structured, and accessible
- Consistent availability Monday–Friday from June through the end of August for summer camps
- Continued availability for weekly and multi-week classes from September onward
- A relevant degree in Animation, Illustration, Digital Art, Fine Arts, or a related field is a plus
- Experience creating project-based lessons or curriculum is a plus
