Community, Marketing & Growth Lead — Leep
About Leep
Leep is a fast-growing music-tech platform helping emerging artists break through industry barriers. We give creators the tools to collaborate, grow their sound, and gain real exposure — without needing industry connections.
We've proven demand in closed beta: 117 artists, 112,000+ organic impressions, and paid sync deals, all with zero ad spend. We have a live MVP, an active Discord community of 150 members, and two contests launching that put real prizes — streaming placement, Dolby certification, BAFTA and Cannes consideration — in front of independent artists for the first time.
Now we need someone to help us turn that momentum into a real user base, and turn that user base into funding.
The Opportunity
As our Community, Marketing & Growth lead (working directly with me, the founder), you'll take ownership of how Leep shows up in the world — our Discord, our content, our contests, and eventually, our pitch to investors.
You won't be starting from zero.
We already have:
A Discord community of 150 members
TikTok and YouTube channels started, with a catalogue of videos ready to post
Two contests in motion (details below) with confirmed prizes and partners
Early traction and a founder ready to work closely with you
Your mission: grow the community, run the contests, get the content out, and help build the story that gets us funded.
Upcoming Contests
Contest 1 — September 1–11 (Soft Launch)
A low-friction remix contest built to create early momentum. Entry: sign up, create a profile, submit a song, and add one contribution to another song.
Prizes:
Featured placement on a streaming platform with 1M+ listeners
A Dolby Atmos Certificate valued at $1,700
Contest 2 — November–February (Flagship Competition)
Our biggest push yet. Winners are being considered for:
A BAFTA after-party performance
Magica Cinémathèque streaming to 900,000+ viewers
Dolby mixing from The Say Audio Studios
A MAG Magazine feature
Cannes 2027 consideration
Potential soundtrack work with composers who've scored for Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu
Confirmed partners include Sofar Sounds, LALAL.AI, and Lyric Finder.
Key Responsibilities
1. Community Management
Own and grow our Discord (currently 150 members) — daily presence, moderation, engagement, event hosting
Turn members into advocates who bring in other artists
Run contest logistics inside the community: sign-ups, submissions, voting, winner announcements
2. Content & Social Growth
Manage and grow TikTok and YouTube from the ground up
Publish from our existing video catalogue and build an ongoing content calendar
Adapt messaging per platform — Discord, TikTok, YouTube, and eventually Reddit/X — without losing our voice
Track what's working and double down on it
3. Contest Execution
Run Contest 1 (Sept 1–11) start to finish: promotion, entries, judging support, winner comms
Build toward Contest 2 (Nov–Feb), coordinating with confirmed partners (Sofar Sounds, LALAL.AI, Lyric Finder, Dolby/The Say Audio Studios, MAG Magazine) on logistics and timing
Turn contest momentum into measurable growth: sign-ups, submissions, retention
4. Fundraising Support
Help build the narrative, materials, and traction story we bring to investors
Turn community and contest data into a case for funding (growth curves, engagement, artist outcomes)
Join founder calls with investors and partners when useful — you understand the space and can speak to it
Help identify and open doors to relevant funding sources (grants, angels, music-industry investors)
Must-Have Qualifications
- Real experience growing a community — Discord, subreddit, fan base, or similar — from the ground up
-Comfortable running social content across TikTok and YouTube (posting, editing basics, calendar management)
-Genuine passion for music and the independent artist space — you follow this world already
-Strong written communication — you can write like a person, not a press release
-Organized enough to run a live contest with real prizes and real deadlines without dropping the ball
Nice-to-Have
-Experience with startup fundraising — pitch decks, investor comms, grant applications
-Existing relationships in music, artist communities, or music-tech
-Video editing skills beyond the basics
-Prior early-stage startup experience (wearing multiple hats, moving fast)
Personal Attributes
-Genuinely into music — this isn't a generic marketing gig, it's a community of artists who can tell when someone doesn't care
-Hands-on — you post the video, you answer the DM, you run the contest yourself
-Resourceful — you find a way to make the $0 marketing budget work
-Persuasive — whether it's convincing an artist to join or an investor to write a check, you know how to make the case
-Proactive — you bring ideas, you don't wait to be told what to post next
