Located in beautiful Revelstoke, BC, Downie Timber Ltd. is a forest harvesting and lumber manufacturing company. We are currently accepting applications for an Accountant, based out of our Revelstoke Office, reporting to the Accounting Manager. This role supports the division’s accounting operations by assisting with month-end processes, financial reporting, and general accounting activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Preparing and entering month-end journal entries
Reconciling bank accounts and various general ledger accounts
Providing intercompany reconciliations & invoices to companies within the Gorman Group
Preparing GST, PST, and other government remittances
Assisting with preparation of month-end financial statements
Providing support for accounts payable and general office administration functions
Compiling various weekly, monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc reports as necessary
Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation

QUALIFICATIONS:

Diploma or post-secondary education in accounting or related field is considered an asset
3 – 5 years progressive accounting experience in a full-cycle accounting environment
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
High attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality
Familiarity with Sage 300 is considered an asset
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks

SALARY RANGE: We offer a competitive compensation package based on your skills and experience. The expected base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $80,000 per year.
