Carabao Care & Counselling is an integrated Family Medicine and Counselling Clinic, anticipated to open in December 2026, and we’re looking for a compassionate, collaborative Psychiatrist to join our growing team.

We’re creating more than a clinic - we’re building a practice where healthcare providers have a voice in how the clinic grows and operates. Our goal is to create a supportive, team-based environment where psychiatrists can focus on providing high-quality, patient-centred mental health care while having meaningful opportunities to help shape the future of the practice.

Our integrated model brings family medicine, psychiatry, and counselling services together under one roof, recognizing that mental and physical health are deeply interconnected. By fostering collaboration between physicians, psychiatrists, and Registered Clinical Counsellors, we aim to improve access to mental health services while providing patients with more coordinated, holistic care.

About the Role

As a Psychiatrist at Carabao Care & Counselling, you will provide comprehensive, patient-centred psychiatric assessment and treatment within an integrated primary care and mental health setting.

You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with our Family Physicians and Registered Clinical Counsellors, providing psychiatric expertise when patients require more specialized mental health assessment or management.

Depending on your interests and scope of practice, the role may include:

Psychiatric assessments and diagnostic clarification
Medication assessment and management
Consultation for patients referred by our Family Physicians and counselling team
Management of common and complex mental health conditions
Collaborative care planning with primary care and counselling providers
Follow-up and longitudinal psychiatric care where appropriate
Providing guidance and consultation to the broader clinical team
Contributing to the development of integrated mental health services within the clinic

Who We're Looking For

Licensed or eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia
Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Psychiatry certification or eligibility is preferred
Compassionate, patient-centred approach to psychiatric care
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Interest in collaborative, multidisciplinary practice
Commitment to evidence-based mental health care
Comfortable working collaboratively with primary care physicians and counsellors
Interest in helping develop and grow an integrated mental health service
Physicians looking for a flexible, supportive practice environment are welcome

Part-time or full-time practice
