Business Development & Sales Representative – Asian Foodservice Markets

Fraser Foods Ltd. – Surrey, BC
Full-time | Base Salary + Uncapped Sales Commission

Fraser Foods Ltd. is a growing food manufacturing and distribution company serving restaurants, retailers and foodservice customers throughout British Columbia.

As part of our continued growth, we are expanding our customer base throughout Metro Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, with a particular focus on Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean and other Asian restaurant and foodservice markets.

We are looking for an energetic, relationship-driven Business Development & Sales Representative who understands the restaurant and foodservice industry and can develop new customers, build long-term relationships and grow sales in these markets.

The Opportunity

This is not simply an order-taking sales position.

You will be responsible for developing a new market for Fraser Foods, identifying prospective restaurant and foodservice customers, introducing our products, developing relationships with owners and purchasing decision-makers, and converting those relationships into profitable, long-term business.

The successful candidate will have significant opportunity to build their own customer portfolio and participate financially in the growth they generate.

Key Responsibilities

Develop new restaurant, foodservice and commercial accounts, care homes, retirement homes, assisted living throughout Metro Vancouver and the Lower Mainland.
Focus initially on Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean and other Asian foodservice markets.
Prospect for new customers through direct visits, telephone, referrals, networking and industry relationships.
Meet restaurant owners, chefs, purchasing managers and other decision-makers.
Present Fraser Foods products, pricing and service capabilities.
Identify customer requirements and work with our operations team to develop appropriate product solutions.
Prepare quotations and follow up with prospective customers.
Convert new prospects into regular Fraser Foods customers.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and newly acquired accounts.
Monitor customer sales activity and identify opportunities to increase product penetration.
Maintain accurate records of sales opportunities, customer contacts and follow-up activity.
Work closely with management on pricing, margins, customer profitability and market development.
Provide feedback regarding competitor pricing, products and emerging market opportunities.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous B2B sales or business development experience, preferably in food distribution, food manufacturing, restaurants, hospitality or foodservice.
Strong knowledge of the Metro Vancouver restaurant and foodservice market.
Ability to develop business through face-to-face relationship selling and prospecting, rather than relying only on incoming leads.
Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
Confidence dealing directly with restaurant owners, chefs and purchasing decision-makers.
A results-oriented and entrepreneurial approach to sales.
Valid driver's licence and ability to travel throughout Metro Vancouver and the Lower Mainland.

Mandarin and/or Cantonese language skills are strongly preferred. Vietnamese or Korean language capability would also be an asset.

Existing relationships within the Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean or broader Asian restaurant and foodservice community would be a significant advantage.
