Auto Body Estimator / Repair Planner / Production Manager

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Auto Body Estimator, Repair Planner, and Production Manager to join our dynamic team. This multifaceted role involves accurately assessing vehicle damage, planning repairs efficiently, managing production workflows, and ensuring exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in automotive repair, dealership experience, and excellent organizational skills to oversee the repair process from estimation to completion.

From here you will be joining the FIX Network and will be given the opportunity to work in the collision industry and build a stable and long term career where there will be lots of opportunities to grow and learn about the industry. We are looking for someone with prior body shop experience and have experience in Audatex/Mitchell Estimating software and have prior experience with a management system like Summit/Mitchell Repair Centre/Bodyshop Connect.

Responsibilities

Analyze Collision repair damage
Assess structural components of a vehicle
Adhering to and applying insurance guidelines
Working with Body Technicians through the dismantle process
Provide accurate pricing and quotes for all vehicles
Maintain communication with customers and be available to answer questions throughout the repair process
Effectively manage multiple repairs simultaneously
Implement an effective quality check process by inspecting repaired vehicles and ensuring the repair is up to standard.
Effectively communicate with insurance companies
Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs and provide updates on their vehicle progress.
Keeping insurance companies informed with the repair status of vehicles.
Scheduling in vehicles for production.
Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette while managing high call volumes.
Upsell products or services such as getting prior damage repaired or optional ceramic coating packages.
Demonstrating the ability to use a bodyshop management software and moving the vehicles in production along in real time through each department.
Ordering and price matching parts as well as entering them in the system.
Conduct detailed inspections of damaged vehicles to assess repair needs and accurately estimate repair costs.
Prepare comprehensive repair plans, including parts ordering, labor allocation, and timeline management.
Coordinate with technicians and body shop staff to ensure timely and quality repairs.
Manage daily production schedules to optimize workflow and meet customer deadlines.
Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repair estimates, progress updates, and addressing client inquiries.
Upsell additional services or repairs when appropriate to enhance customer satisfaction and shop revenue.
Oversee quality control checks post-repair to ensure standards are met before vehicle delivery.
Maintain detailed documentation of repairs, estimates, and customer interactions for record-keeping purposes. Requirements
Proven Auto Body Shop experience or extensive background in automotive repair is highly preferred.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand vehicle damage assessments and repair procedures.
Excellent customer service skills with a professional demeanor.
Experience in sales or upselling automotive services is advantageous.
Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly.
Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in estimating and planning repairs.
Leadership abilities to manage production workflows effectively.
Knowledge of automotive estimating software is a plus.
Prior experience as an estimator or repair planner is desirable but not mandatory.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.

Experience

Requirements

Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to effectively manage time, meet deadlines and complete all assigned tasks.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to work in a team and independently.
Sound understanding of all automotive functionalities.
Valid Ontario G Driver's License.
Must have experience with Mitchell or Audatex
Previous experience in a body shop administrative role is preferred.
Strong communication skills in English; bilingual or multilingual capabilities are a plus.
Preferably have experience in Audatex/Mitchell Estimating software and have prior experience with a management system like Summit/Mitchell Repair Centre/Bodyshop Connect.
Must be able to navigate through Car-Part and differentiate different models of parts like Halogen/Xenon/LED
Preferably have understand the fundamentals of a vehicle and understand how to operate a vehicle and be able to differentiate parts like fenders, doors, quarter panels Ect.
