Job Title: Staff Accountant / Assistant Controller

Quick Overview:

Join our dynamic team at Pidherney’s Inc., a leading oilfield, underground, concrete, trucking, rental, real estate, aggregate, and earthworks construction company dedicated from “Start to Finish”. We are committed to excellence in every aspect of our operations and are currently seeking a proactive and experienced Staff Accountant to play a pivotal role in our economic management.

As the Staff Accountant at Pidherney’s Inc., you will be involved in all aspects of our accounting department, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial reporting and operations. You will play a key role in strategic decision-making and financial planning, working closely with ownership and senior management to drive the company's success.

Key Responsibilities:

· Review and analyze job margins.

· Monitor capital assets and depreciation.

· Annual insurance renewals.

· Monthly GST audits.

· Balance sheet reconciliations.

· Assist with reviewing and implementing procedures within the accounting department.

· Ad hoc reports/analysis as required.

· Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulations.

Qualifications:

Accounting Diploma or preferably, a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
CPA certification (or working towards).
Proven experience (3-5 years) in accounting or finance roles.
Thorough understanding of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
