TYCROP is looking for a Mechanical Engineer, Designer to join our team in the Fraser Valley.
Join our dynamic Mechanical Engineering team and play a key role in shaping innovative products that make an impact. From concept development to commissioning and testing, you’ll be involved in every stage of the product lifecycle. Your work will span design, optimization, manufacturing support, and beyond—bringing ideas to life and ensuring they perform at their best.
Responsibilities:
· Design & Innovate: Create detailed CAD designs, drawings, and specifications for new and existing products
· Lead & Collaborate: Supervise and mentor other technicians and new hires; review designs, calculations, and cost estimates
· Customer-Focused Engineering: Translate customer needs into practical, cost-effective solutions and ensure products meet all requirements
· Quality & Compliance: Validate product performance, safety, and compliance while mitigating risks
· Lifecycle Support: Provide engineering expertise from concept through production and beyond, including sales support and manufacturing guidance.
· Project Management: Develop and monitor project plans to meet time, cost, and quality objectives
· Knowledge Sharing: Document best practices and lessons learned to drive continuous improvement
Technical Documentation: Maintain accurate and comprehensive product documentation for customers and internal teams
Specific Skills:
· Strong technical communication and collaboration skills
· Proficiency in MS Office and mechanical design principles
· Experience in DFMA and structural integrity analysis
· Ability to design, conduct, and document experiments and prototypes
· Solid project and resource management capabilities
Education and Experience:
- Technology diploma in mechanical engineering
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant engineering experience in product design
- Registration with ASTTBC would be an asset
