About Us

Famous Dave’s BBQ is a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant known for authentic slow-smoked BBQ, outstanding hospitality, and exceptional food quality. We are looking for a motivated and dependable Line Cook to join our kitchen team. If you thrive in a busy environment and take pride in preparing great food, we’d love to hear from you.

Position Summary

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to Famous Dave’s recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines. This position plays a vital role in maintaining food quality, speed of service, cleanliness, and food safety while working closely with the kitchen team to deliver an exceptional guest experience.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and company specifications.
Ensure all food is cooked, plated, and presented consistently to Famous Dave’s quality standards.
Maintain proper food holding temperatures and safe food handling practices.
Set up, stock, and organize your station before each shift.
Monitor product quality and notify the Kitchen Manager of shortages or quality concerns.
Work efficiently during peak service while maintaining accuracy and consistency.
Assist with catering, banquet, takeout, and third-party delivery orders.
Follow FIFO procedures and ensure proper product rotation and storage.
Keep workstations, equipment, and kitchen areas clean and sanitized throughout each shift.
Complete opening, closing, and daily cleaning responsibilities.
Work as part of a team to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely service.

Qualifications

Previous line cook experience in a high-volume restaurant is preferred.
Knowledge of grilling, sautéing, frying, and food preparation techniques.
Food Handler Certification is an asset.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
