Full job description

The hotel Night Auditor is responsible for verifying the correctness of guest accounts by balancing each department’s income, as well as posting room, tax, and local phone charges to guest folios.

Major Duties and Responsibilities at hotel

Uses suggestive selling techniques to sell rooms and to promote other services of the hotel.
Posts and files all charges to guest, master, and city ledger accounts. Completing Month end duties.
Uses proper telephone etiquette.
Reports any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager or assistant manager.
Knows all safety and emergency procedures. Is aware of accident prevention policies.
Maintains the cleanliness and neatness of the front desk area.
Ensures the integrity and security of hotel and guests with resources on hand.
Handover done in Quore system for entire hotel
Follow night audit procedures and ensuring any challenges are corrected over night.
Auditing the work of the day. Correcting concerns and reporting challenges on a daily basis.
Guest Satisfaction, communication Assigns rooms in a courteous and efficient manner.
Records and makes all wake-up calls in an appropriate manner.
Must have complete knowledge of policies and procedures to be followed in case of an emergency.
Handles all internal control items as hotel policies and procedures dictate.
Assist in Setting-up breakfast for the morning team.
Contribute to achieving Hilton Honors Enrollment goals.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills

Experience (1-3 years) in the hotel industry is considered a strong asset, especially night audit experience.
Basic accounting skills would be considered an asset.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and administration skills.
Proficiency / familiarity with computerized systems; MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
Ability to gather, compare, analyze and present data.
Ability to deal with all levels of management and staff in a professional manner.
Ability to multi-task and work within deadlines.

Mental Effort

Mental and visual concentration during computer work daily, for accuracy in data entry and editing.
Mental effort required in multi-tasking and handling interruptions that require refocusing.
Listening and mental attentiveness in fulfilling guests requirements.
Periods of mental and visual concentration required for preparing, reviewing, and analyzing reconciliations and reports.

Physical Effort

Performs computer work daily.

Working Conditions

Infrequent handling of queries and calls from guests, and property staff.
Works a night, alone with minimum supervision and with no co-workers.

Type of Supervision Required

Reports to the hotel Front Office Manager. Works under general instructions to prioritize and complete assigned tasks.
