Junior Compliance Officer & Trainer (Full-Time)

Life Start Training is a growing first aid and safety training organization delivering practical, engaging, and compliant first aid and CPR programs through corporate locations and franchise partners across multiple provinces.
As our organization continues to expand, we are seeking a highly organized, adaptable, and motivated individual to join our team as a Junior Compliance Officer & Trainer.
This position offers a unique opportunity to build experience across first aid instruction, quality assurance, instructor onboarding, compliance support, corporate operations, franchise support, and organizational development.
About the Role:
The Junior Compliance Officer & Trainer will work under the direction of the Compliance Officer and CEO to support Life Start Training’s quality assurance, instructor on-boarding, documentation review, operational continuity, and compliance preparation processes.
This is a developmental position intended for someone who wants to build a long-term career in training quality, compliance, operations, and leadership.
The successful candidate will learn how Life Start Training functions from the classroom through to certification, documentation, instructor onboarding, corporate administration, and quality review. This practical understanding is essential to supporting accurate audits, effective instructor development, and consistent training delivery.
Approximately 20% of this position will involve teaching first aid and CPR courses. Teaching is not simply additional coverage. It is a core competency of the role.
Life Start Training believes that individuals responsible for onboarding instructors, reviewing classroom performance, supporting audits, evaluating competencies, or assisting with program development must maintain firsthand instructional experience in the programs they support.
Employer-provided first aid instructor training will be available to the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Quality and Compliance Support
- Review instructor and on-boarding documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Verify that required certifications, prerequisites, forms, and on-boarding steps have been completed.
- Identify missing information, inconsistencies, documentation concerns, and areas requiring follow-up.
- Prepare files and findings for final review by the Compliance Officer or CEO.
- Assist with internal quality reviews, instructor observations, and audit preparation.
- Track corrective actions, follow-up requirements, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain organized and current compliance records.
- Support the implementation of updated policies, procedures, programs, and training standards.
- Escalate concerns appropriately without independently making final compliance decisions.
Instructor On-boarding and Development
- Assist with on-boarding new first aid instructors.
- Support instructor training pathways, mini-teaches, classroom observations, mentorship, and readiness reviews.
- Monitor completion of on-boarding requirements and documentation.
- Help maintain on-boarding resources, forms, checklists, procedures, and training materials.
- Support the roll-out and testing of new or updated training programs.
- Assist instructors with understanding Life Start Training’s teaching expectations, systems, and quality standards.
First Aid Instruction
Approximately 20% of the position will involve teaching first aid and CPR programs Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining active instructional qualifications and competency.
- Teaching first aid and CPR courses regularly.
- Modelling Life Start Training’s instructional standards and professional expectations.
- Remaining current with program content, policies, procedures, and teaching methodologies.
- Participating in the practical testing and implementation of new programs and course outlines.
- Using current classroom experience to support instructor onboarding, quality reviews, and continuous improvement.
Franchise and Organizational Support
- Assist with on-boarding and supporting franchise owners and their instructors.
- Participate in franchise training and operational support activities.
- Support communication and coordination between instructors, franchise partners, corporate staff, and leadership.
- Assist with organizational projects, process improvements, and documentation.
- Help develop or improve standard operating procedures, checklists, forms, and internal resources.
- Supporting certification and reporting workflows.
- Learning instructor on-boarding and communication systems.
- Assisting with operational troubleshooting.

Previous experience in instruction, healthcare, emergency services, education, administration, quality assurance, compliance, auditing, leadership, or project coordination is considered an asset but is not required in every area.
We recognize that most candidates will not already have experience in instruction, administration, and compliance. We are looking for someone with a strong foundation, the right judgment, and the ability to grow into the position.
Compensation and Benefits
The starting wage is $24.00–$28.00 per hour, based on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, instructional background, demonstrated competencies, and ability to take on the responsibilities of the role.

Work Environment and Flexibility
This position is primarily based in Saint John and includes a combination of office work, classroom instruction, meetings, on-boarding activities, and occasional travel.
Following successful on-boarding and training, the employee may be eligible to work from home approximately one to three days per week, depending on teaching schedules, operational requirements, performance, and organizational needs.
This is not a fully remote position. Regular in-person participation is essential to understanding the organization, supporting instructors, teaching courses, and maintaining practical competency.
Travel
Occasional travel within New Brunswick may be required.
Infrequent out-of-province travel may also be required to support franchise on-boarding, instructor development, audits, training initiatives, or organizational projects. Out-of-province travel is expected to be limited, generally occurring no more than once or twice per year, and will be communicated in advance whenever possible.
