The City of Salmon Arm is accepting applications for a Part Time Accounting Clerk II (Accounts Payable) for an exciting Job Share opportunity. Reporting to the Manager of Finance, this position assists in providing Accounts Payable Administration. The positions core duties include, but are not limited to:

Responsibilities

Receiving, reviewing, coding, and processing vendor invoices, employee expense claims, cheque requisitions,and other accounts payable documents.
Matching invoices to purchase orders, approvals, contracts, or supporting documentation and following up on discrepancies in a timely manner.
Preparing and processing payments, including electronic funds transfers, cheques, and related paymentdocumentation.
Reconciling vendor statements, account balances, credit card transactions, and other financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Maintaining organized accounts payable records, vendor files, and supporting documentation in accordance with established procedures.
Providing professional and courteous service to vendors, staff, and other departments while maintainingconfidentiality and financial integrity.

Required Qualifications

One (1) year post-secondary education in Business Administration, Public Administration or a recognized accounting designation or equivalent
Minimum two (2) years’ experience in accounts payable, accounting support, bookkeeping, or a related administrative finance role.
Experience in a public sector environment would be considered an asset.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy when entering, reviewing, reconciling, and maintaining financialinformation.
Proficiency with accounting software, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize work, communicate professionally, and handle confidential information with discretion.

Remuneration for this position is in accordance with the CUPE Local 1908 Collective Agreement, beginning at $32.42 per hour. This position will qualify for the City’s benefits program and our Municipal Pension Plan (MPP). As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to join the union and pay union dues via payroll deduction.
