- Junior Bookkeepers manage daily transaction processing
- Senior Bookkeepers oversee, review, and ensure accuracy, compliance, and completion

Role Summary
This is a senior-level role designed for someone who thrives in a multi-client, fast-moving environment.
This is NOT a data-entry role.
*We are looking for someone who can step into a review-focused role immediately with minimal training.*
Your primary focus will be:
- Reviewing junior work and providing clear, constructive feedback
- Managing client files, priorities, and deadlines
- Ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance
- Supporting and guiding junior team members
You will be responsible for:
- Monthly and year-end reconciliations through trial balance
- Weekly bank and credit card reconciliations
- Cash flow reporting
- Payroll and government compliance
If your experience is primarily in in-house accounting or single-client roles, this position may not be the right fit.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee multiple client files simultaneously throughout the day
- Review and approve work completed by Junior Bookkeepers
- Perform full-cycle bookkeeping through trial balance (monthly and year-end)
- Complete month-end and year-end reviews, adjustments, and journal entries
- Perform and review weekly bank and credit card reconciliations
- Prepare weekly payables and receivables reports
- Maintain and monitor weekly client cash flow reporting
- Process and review payroll and source deductions (CPP, EI, income tax)
- Prepare and file GST, PST, and HST returns
- Manage WCB and Employer Health Tax (EHT) requirements
- Ensure all filings and deadlines are met accurately and on time
- Provide clear, constructive feedback and guidance to junior staff
- Troubleshoot issues independently and resolve discrepancies efficiently
- Assist with maintaining and improving Financial Cents workflow processes
- Client catch-up work as needed, from start to completion
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years experience in a public practice or multi-client bookkeeping position
- 2+ years experience with QuickBooks Online
- Full-cycle bookkeeping experience through trial balance
- Strong understanding of:
- Payroll and source deductions
- GST/PST/HST
- WCB and EHT
- Prepaids, deferred revenue, accruals
- Capital assets and depreciation
- Lease classifications (operating vs. capital)
- Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, SUMIFs, etc.)
- Experience reviewing and overseeing junior-level work
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Comfortable working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
