Specific Accountabilities:
- Provide client support
- Complete retention outreach and follow-up via email, text and phone
- Administrative tasks including but not limited to scheduling appointments, promoting services, follow-up calls, tracking data, posting jobs
- Promote services through a variety of methods
About the Position:
This is a temporary, full time support staff position replacing a bargaining unit employee. Working 35 hours per week at an hourly rate of $34.60 this role will commence as soon as possible and end June 8, 2027.
Under the supervision of their manager, the incumbent assesses the client's suitability and eligibility for assisted/ case managed or unassisted services. For those who are most suitable for unassisted services the incumbent provides information regarding local training and employment opportunities, community service supports, occupational and training requirements and resources to support independent or "unassisted" job search, career clarification and planning, and informed education, training and employment decisions. The incumbent will support clients and provide customer service to clients in the resource centre on a daily basis. For those who are most suitable for assisted services, the incumbent refers the client to an employment consultant for ongoing service coordination and case management. The incumbent is responsible for connecting with local employers and promoting hiring needs on internal and external websites. The incumbent will assess those who have applied to advertised positions for suitability and eligibility of assisted/ case managed or unassisted services. The incumbent will also be responsible for program promotion and marketing, sending promotional materials to community partners and employers and participating in college and department events. The incumbent is responsible for all client tracking and data collection for booking appointments, client retention, job postings and computer lab services.
Qualifications:
- 2 year diploma in Office Admin or Business; other 2-year diploma would be accepted for a candidate with strong computer skills
- Two years experience in a customer service/advising field (resource room environment preferred)
- Strong time management, customer service, computer and communication skills
