Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional front desk support, manage patient interactions, and ensure smooth administrative operations within a busy multi-doctor medical clinic . This role requires strong organizational skills, familiarity with electronic medical records, and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently. Experience with office management systems and medical terminology is highly valued to deliver excellent patient service and support clinical staff effectively.

Duties

Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner at the front desk
Schedule appointments and manage patient flow using electronic scheduling systems
Handle multi-line phone systems to answer inquiries, transfer calls, and take messages
Maintain accurate patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) platform
Verify insurance information and assist with billing processes
Prepare and update patient charts, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations
Assist with administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and correspondence
Manage patient check-in/check-out procedures efficiently to minimize wait times
Support clinical staff by coordinating lab work or imaging appointments as needed

Skills

Proficiency with electronic medical records systems
Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to healthcare documentation
Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a medical l office setting is preferred
Experience working in a medical or dental office environment, including front desk duties and administrative support
Excellent communication skills, especially in managing multi-line phone systems and patient interactions
Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Knowledgeable with office equipment and software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
