To support our rapid growth, we are seeking an exceptional Senior Web GIS Developer to help build the next generation of AI-powered geospatial platforms that integrate cloud GIS, interactive mapping, 3D visualization, AI analytics, computer vision, drones, and digital twins.

Compensation & Growth
Salary: CAD $100,000–$150,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
After 12 months of continuous full-time employment, employee performance and long-term contributions will be formally evaluated. At the discretion of the Board of Directors, outstanding employees may be granted stock options or participate in future equity incentive programs as SGA continues its journey toward becoming an IPO-ready company.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Web GIS Developer to lead the architecture, design, development, and deployment of SGA's next-generation cloud-based Web GIS platforms.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you will build scalable, high-performance geospatial applications that integrate interactive maps, cloud GIS services, 3D visualization, AI analytics, drones, LiDAR, and spatial databases.
Working closely with AI researchers, software engineers, product designers, and executive leadership, you will develop innovative geospatial platforms that support AI-powered decision-making for agriculture and enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities
Cloud GIS & Web GIS Development
- Lead the architecture, design, development, and maintenance of scalable cloud-based Web GIS platforms.
- Develop interactive mapping applications using modern Web GIS technologies.
- Design intuitive user interfaces for spatial data visualization and geospatial analysis.
- Build reusable GIS components, APIs, and mapping services for multiple software platforms.
3D Geospatial Visualization
- Develop interactive 3D geospatial visualization and digital twin applications.
- Build high-performance visualization tools for large-scale geospatial datasets.
- Optimize rendering performance for web-based mapping and 3D applications.
- Integrate drone imagery, satellite imagery, LiDAR, point clouds, terrain models, and other geospatial datasets.
Spatial Data & Cloud Services
- Design and manage cloud GIS platforms, spatial databases, and geospatial web services.
- Develop REST APIs and cloud-native geospatial services.
- Process, manage, and visualize spatial data from multiple sources and formats.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
Technical Leadership
- Collaborate with AI engineers, software developers, and product designers to deliver innovative geospatial solutions.
- Conduct code reviews and establish engineering best practices.
- Mentor junior developers and promote high software quality.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging Web GIS, cloud, and AI technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Geomatics, Geography, Geospatial Science, GIS, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Extensive professional experience designing and delivering commercial Web GIS, cloud GIS, mapping, or enterprise software applications.
- Applicants must provide links, screenshots, case studies, or descriptions of commercial Web GIS, cloud GIS, or mapping applications they have developed, including their specific responsibilities and technical contributions.
- Proven experience developing scalable Web GIS applications using technologies such as Leaflet, Mapbox GL JS, Google Maps API, OpenLayers, CesiumJS, or similar frameworks.
- Proven experience developing interactive 3D geospatial visualization and digital twin applications using CesiumJS or comparable technologies.
- Experience designing, deploying, or maintaining cloud GIS platforms using technologies such as GeoLibre, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, GeoServer, or equivalent cloud-native GIS platforms.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern web frameworks such as React, Vue.js, or Angular.
- Experience with PostGIS, PostgreSQL, GeoServer, QGIS, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, or equivalent GIS technologies.
- Experience designing and optimizing spatial databases, REST APIs, cloud-native geospatial services, and distributed software architectures.
- Experience integrating satellite imagery, drone imagery, LiDAR, point clouds, raster, vector, and other geospatial datasets into web applications.
- Proven experience using AI-assisted software development tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar) to improve coding productivity, debugging, and software quality.
- Strong analytical, software architecture, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with experience working in multidisciplinary software development teams.
