WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re hiring a Stability Development Associate Chemist to lead and carry out the full stability process—from protocol design and sample setup to data analysis, reporting, and shelf-life determination—supporting both new product development and the ongoing monitoring of existing products
This is an on-site role based in our Downtown Toronto Headquarters in Liberty Village.
This is a contract position that ends on October 22nd 2027
PAY RANGE
The anticipated base salary for this position is $60,000 to $70,000.
Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location.
WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE

Develop fit-for-purpose stability protocols tailored to product-specific characteristics and formulation knowledge to ensure meaningful and reliable shelf-life data.

Takes ownership of the stability program, ensuring end-to-end execution of stability studies in compliance with approved protocols, internal procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Performs innovative and rigorous physical characterisation testing as well as qualitative and quantitative analysis using a variety of analytical techniques including wet chemistry, UV-Vis, titration, rheology, FTIR, UV spectrophotometry, HPLC/UPLC-UV/PDA, and others.

Identifies and leads the escalation of Out of Trend (OOT) and Out-of-Specification (OOS) results, and drives root cause investigations and corrective actions to ensure product quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.

Lead the assessment of packaging integrity, compatibility, and potential leachables/extractables in collaboration with packaging development and regulatory teams to ensure product quality, compliance, and long-term shelf-life stability.

Accurately document and interpret analytical results, maintaining detailed records in compliance with cGMP standards.

Owns the continuous innovation and quality improvement by contributing to the creation and revision of internal SOPs, Work Instructions, and best practices.

Lead and coordinate operational activities by delegating appropriate tasks to the Stability Coordinator, including purchasing of lab supplies, communicating with vendors, scheduling equipment repairs, and supporting qualification and maintenance activities, to ensure seamless lab operations and adherence to timelines.

Responsible for identifying and driving continuous improvement opportunities within the laboratory, to support innovation, efficiency, and overall lab performance.

Responsible for inventory stock levels for reagents, standards, and other necessary lab supplies. Ensure the stocks are maintained current.

Maintains comprehensive documentation, including
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE

Theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience with various analytical techniques including, but not limited to, physical characterisation techniques, wet chemistry techniques, FTIR, UV spectrophotometry, HPLC/UPLC-UV/PDA, sample preparation techniques.

Familiar with USP, BP, EP, ICH Stability guidelines, ISO standards and regulatory requirements applicable to cosmetic and OTC products.

Strong communication (written & verbal), interpersonal, and organisational skills.

Good understanding of good laboratory practices and good documentation practices.

Comprehension of the regulatory guidelines applicable to laboratory settings.
