Brunswick Bierworks is a Canadian beverage manufacturing partner producing a diverse range of products for leading beverage brands. We are looking for a Quality Control Lab Technician to join our team and play a hands-on role in ensuring product quality across our manufacturing and packaging operations. Working closely with Quality and Production, you will perform analytical testing, verify product and process specifications, support real-time production decisions, and help ensure every product meets our internal standards, customer requirements, food safety standards, and regulatory expectations.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform routine analytical and quality testing of ingredients, in-process product, finished product, and environmental samples.
· Aseptically collect and process samples throughout the batching, blending, and packaging process.
· Perform product quality and specification testing with a high level of accuracy and reliability.
· Conduct environmental monitoring, equipment and product swabbing, and sanitation verification activities.
· Accurately record and review laboratory results and promptly escalate out-of-specification results or other quality and food safety concerns.
· Support product hold and release activities by ensuring required testing is completed accurately and on time.
· Prepare laboratory media, standards, reagents, and samples according to established procedures.
· Calibrate, verify, and maintain laboratory equipment and support proficiency testing to ensure reliable and accurate results.
· Support sensory evaluation and other product assessment activities as required.
· Work closely with Blending, Packaging, and Quality to support production, troubleshoot quality issues, and ensure products meet approved specifications.
· Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready laboratory records while following all safety, food safety, GMP, and laboratory procedures.
· Support commissioning, validation, start-up, and production ramp-up activities by executing established Quality Control testing and verification requirements.
What We're Looking For
· Post-secondary degree or diploma in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Food Science, Chemistry, Quality Assurance, or a related discipline.
· Previous laboratory, Quality Control, food, beverage, or manufacturing experience is preferred.
· Strong understanding of basic microbiological and analytical laboratory techniques.
· Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform testing accurately and consistently.
· Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage changing production priorities.
· Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively with Quality and Operations.
· Commitment to safety, food safety, product quality, and accurate documentation.
· Flexibility to work the shifts required to support a continuous manufacturing operation.
Preferred Experience
· Beverage, RTD, food, or other liquid-processing manufacturing.
· Microbiological, analytical, environmental monitoring, or sanitation verification testing.
· Laboratory equipment calibration, verification, and method validation.
· FSSC 22000, HACCP, or other recognized food safety management systems.
Pay: $50,000.00-$54,000.00 per year
