What you will be doing:
Contributes to the overall success of Tangerine Data & AI Strategy and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements. Senior Manager Data Governance & Quality supports the Director to design, implement, and operationalize the data quality framework and data quality issue management across business lines. The role ensures that critical data elements are accurate, complete, consistent, timely and fit-for-purpose to support regulatory reporting, analytics, AI projects and strategic decision making.

Support the implementation of data risk management and governance practices to meet internal policy requirements and evolving regulatory expectations.
Support the execution of the enterprise Data Quality Management Framework, including the design, enhancement, and validation of data quality rules and controls across critical data elements (CDEs).
Implement and oversee data quality issue management process, ensuring clear ownership, SLA tracking, escalation, and timely resolution of issues.
Partner with business lines to support remediation of data quality issues and monitor ongoing data quality performance, trends, and risks.
Collaborate with business leads, data custodians and Data Office to embed data quality controls and support consistent implementation of data policies, standards, and procedures.
Provide guidance to business lines on data quality best practices and support the identification and resolution of data-related issues.
Support stakeholder management, reporting, and governance activities, including coordination of meetings, development of presentation materials, and facilitation of domain-level data quality forums and working groups.
Identify, recommend, and support process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness across data quality monitoring and remediation.
Work closely with enterprise data governance, senior management, and business and technology stakeholders to support data management initiatives across the organization.
Champion a data-driven and customer-focused culture, actively share knowledge to support team development, and contribute to a high-performance, inclusive work environment while supporting other priorities as required.

Experience managing data governance, data quality, audit, regulatory, compliance, or risk-related issues through remediation and closure.

Proven ability to learn business processes quickly and to work well with business partners at different levels within the organization.
Well developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly translate data quality and data management issues into business impact for non-technical stakeholders, engage with business stakeholders and audience at all levels.
Working knowledge of data management concepts, processes, and tools (e.g., Collibra, Governance Console)
Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem including BigQuery is considered an asset.
Knowledge of AI governance frameworks, responsible AI practices, and emerging regulatory expectations related to AI-enabled banking processes.
Experience supporting governance intake, risk/control assessment, documentation, and stakeholder coordination for data, analytics, automation, or AI initiatives.
