Full job description

Location: Winnipeg Capital Region, St. Andrews Airport District

Building Design Technologist

At Parsus Engineering (Parsus), we are full-service integrated design consultants who design efficient, sustainable solutions for clients across Canada. Our team values collaboration, quality, and continuous improvement. We are currently seeking a Building Design Technologist to join us and contribute to our mission.

What You’ll Do

Review technical drawings to ensure compliance with applicable building codes, standards, and bylaws.
Prepare code reviews, compliance reports, and supporting documentation for projects at various stages.
Advise project teams on code requirements and best practices.
Stay current with changes to national and provincial building codes and communicate updates to the team.
Liaise with municipal officials and regulatory authorities as required to support approvals and permitting.

Requirements

Graduated from a three-year Architectural/ Engineering Technology program at a recognized post-secondary institution.
Eligible for registration with The Certified Technicians & Technologists Association of Manitoba (CTTAM) or The Architectural and Building Technologists Association of Manitoba (ABTAM).
Attention to detail with ability to identify compliance issues and propose practical solutions.
Must possess a valid driver’s license for a passenger vehicle.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong verbal and written communication skills, and a willingness to function in a team-based environment.
Aptitude for and general understanding of building construction methods and procedures.
Knowledge of the National Building Code of Canada and relevant provincial codes is an asset.
Holding a Building Inspection Certificate – Part 9 Certified Building Code Official (CBCO) designation is an asset.
General construction experience is an asset.
