Full job description

Overall Responsibility:

The Senior Coordinator of the Residential Department is responsible for the overall leadership and administration of service delivery; meeting the mission and values of Inclusion Selkirk and ensuring that the services established for people are designed and delivered in a manner that empowers them to achieve their desired personal outcomes.

Specific Responsibilities:

Administration:

· Ensure all legislative and legal requirements are met.

· Establish safe and healthy work environments in compliance with legislation and regulation.

· Administers general policies and procedures that contribute to the effective operation of the agency and ensures that staff members are aware of and understand policies and procedures.

· Recommends changes to policies and procedures that will contribute to enhancing quality of life for people.

· Ensure daily/weekly/monthly accountability checks are completed by the team

Service Development and Management:

· Be aware of trends in the field and how they may impact service delivery.

· Evaluate services to ensure that they achieve desired outcome.

· Lead and participate in formal service evaluations.

· Act as a resource to Coordinators/managers in problem solving service delivery issues.

· Identify gaps in service delivery within the community and work strategically to address these gaps.

· Identify and assist with development of new services as directed by Executive Director.

Leadership:

· Responsible for the overall leadership and management of employees.

· Communicate a vision for service delivery, provide direction and guidance to employees, and lead them through changes to further the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

· Supervise, mentor, coach and evaluate Coordinators/managers, resolve conflicts and employee issues and provide progressive discipline where necessary.

· Implement human resources policies, procedures, and practices. Ensure employees are aware of policies and procedures.

Communication:

· Promote the concept of inclusion and full community participation to facilitate opportunities for valued roles for people supported.

· Advocate for regulation/ policy changes including at a political level, as needed.

· Promote and communicate agency vision, mission and values.

· Develop effective, strategic partnerships with a variety of stakeholders and maintain positive public relations with the community, support networks, external agencies, funders, schools, and other professionals.

Financial Responsibilities:

· Contributes to the financial health of the department and safeguards its assets by implementing and overseeing policies, systems and internal controls relative to budget preparation and cash management, payroll, asset protection, and property management.

· Provide input for budget development of service area with an eye for accuracy and sustainability. Prepare projections for future financial requirements. Report discrepancies in funds according to policy.

Transition and Intake:

· Support the team through internal moves, new transitions and changes in support needs.

· Approve move in date after reviewing that all plans are ready and in place to ensure smooth transitions.

· Engage with additional team members as needed for transition planning and development of resources/ plans for people supported.

Advocacy:

· Advocates for justice, inclusion, and full community participation, ensuring that the agency operates in a manner that will empower individuals to achieve their personal outcomes.

· Supports the team to ensure people are leading the life they choose and that resources and funding are in place for people to achieve their personal goals and outcomes.

Human Resource Management:

· Communicates performance expectations; facilities problem solving, resolves conflict, and manages the performance management process, contributing to the overall development of the staff team.

Qualifications:

· A related Bachelor's Degree or Disability and Community Support Program Diploma is preferred

· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Senior Management role

· Excellent working knowledge of Windows, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Office 360

· Demonstrated effective leadership skills

· Strong and effective interpersonal skills

· Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written)

· Strong organizational skills

· Effective problem-solving skills

· Ability to prioritize

· Valid class 5 driver’s license

· Must be a self-starter who is able to multi-task and be organized

· Must be creative and innovative

· Demonstrated ability to advocate and promote self-advocacy

Pay: $27.00-$34.00 per hour
