Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Dietary Aide to join our team in providing exceptional person-centred nutritional support within our non-profit long term care home. The ideal candidate will assist with meal preparation, food service, and sanitation to ensure residents receive quality care in a welcoming, clean and safe environment. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the well-being of others while gaining valuable experience in food handling and healthcare support.

Duties

Assist with meal preparation, including cooking and portioning food according to dietary guidelines
Serve meals to residents with professionalism and excellent customer service skills
Ensure proper food handling and safety procedures are followed at all times
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas, including cleaning utensils, surfaces, and equipment
Support with inventory management by stocking supplies and monitoring expiration dates
Follow established protocols for food safety, sanitation, and infection control
Assist with dietary documentation and record keeping as required by facility policies
Collaborate with kitchen staff and healthcare team to meet residents’ nutritional needs

Experience

Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospital, or food industry is needed.
Knowledge of food preparation, cooking, and food service operations
Familiarity with food safety standards and sanitation practices
Experience in food handling, meal preparation, serving, and kitchen cleanliness is advantageous
Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks during busy shifts
Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with residents
Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

Pay: From $25.82 per hour
