Full job description

En tant qu’estimateur ou estimatrice, vous aurez comme mandat principal de contribuer à la croissance des ventes par l’analyse et la qualification des demandes, l’estimation des coûts de projets. Plus précisément, vous aurez à :

Analyser les projets dans leur ensemble afin de pouvoir bien planifier les étapes et les coûts ;
Interpréter correctement les spécifications techniques des documents d'appels d'offres ;
Participer à la recherche de fournisseurs et de sous-traitants et d’appels d’offres ;
Traiter avec les différents intervenants des projets et établir une relation d'affaires avec les différents fournisseurs, firmes professionnelles et sous-traitants ;
Procéder à l’estimation du coût des matériaux, de la main-d’œuvre, de l'équipement, de l’outillage et de la sous-traitance à l’aide du logiciel de gestion ;
Produire les soumissions finales pour les clients ;
Coordonner la fermeture des soumissions des projets avec les responsables ;
Collaborer avec l'équipe en place pour le démarrage des projets (chargé de projet, contremaître, etc.) ;
Contribuer à la mise à jour des bases de données (données techniques, de référence ou de fournisseurs) ;
Participer à l’intégration et au maintien du logiciel d’estimation ;
Participer aux rencontres pour établir les stratégies d’estimation ;
Effectuer toute autre tâche connexe.

EXIGENCES

Détenir un diplôme d’études collégiales en estimation, en électricité ou toute autre formation équivalente;
5 ans d’expérience dans un poste similaire ;
Expérience pertinente dans le domaine électrique;
Avoir un permis de conduire valide de classe 5;
Avoir une bonne maîtrise du français et de l'anglais, parlé et écrit pour communiquer avec nos partenaires hors Québec;
Être disponible pour effectuer des déplacements sur les chantiers, au besoin;
Avoir des connaissances des logiciels informatiques usuels;
Connaître le logiciel Maestro (atout);
Avoir des connaissances des lois, règles, règlements de la construction au Québec (électricité du bâtiment), et du code canadien de l’électricité;
Avoir une excellente approche clientèle ;
Être capable de gérer plusieurs dossiers simultanément ;
Avoir une approche méthodique et standardisée ;
Avoir un bon esprit d’équipe ;
Veiller à la qualité du travail.

RESPONSABILITIE
In the role of Estimator, you will play a key role in driving sales growth by analyzing and qualifying requests, and preparing accurate project cost estimates. More precisely, you will have to :

Analyze projects as a whole to properly plan steps and costs;
Interpret accurately technical specifications in tender documents;
Participate in sourcing suppliers and subcontractors and in managing tender requests;
Communicate with project stakeholders and build business relationships with suppliers, professional firms, and subcontractors;
Estimate the cost of materials, labor, equipment, tools, and subcontracting using the management software;
Prepare and submit final proposals to clients;
Coordinate project bid closures with the responsible parties;
Collaborate with the team for project start-up (project manager, foreman, etc.);
Contribute to updating databases (technical data, references, suppliers);
Assist in the integration and maintenance of the estimating software;
Participate in meetings to establish estimating strategies;
Perform any other related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Hold a college diploma in Estimating, Electrical Studies, or any other equivalent training;
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position;
Relevant experience in the electrical field;
Hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license;
Be fluent in French and English, both spoken and written, to communicate effectively with our partners outside of Quebec;
Available to travel to job sites as needed;
Knowledge of standard computer programs;
Familiar with Maestro software (an asset);
Knowledge of construction laws, rules, and regulations in Québec (building electricity), as well as the Canadian Electrical Code;
Display excellent customer-focused approach.
Manage efficiently multiple files or projects simultaneously;
Demonstrate methodical and standardized work approach;
Works collaboratively and effectively within a team environment;
Convey commitment to delivering high-quality work.
