Concrete Form Setter

Join our Team and gear up for an exciting career!

DeFord Contracting Inc. is looking for an experienced Concrete Form Setter for Civil Construction city projects in and around the Greater Edmonton Area. DeFord is a leading contractor in Edmonton, Alberta, specializing in municipal road projects, subdivision land development, parking lots, and other key infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine formwork requirements.
Assemble, install, and align concrete forms for sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and other structures.
Ensure formwork is set to specified grades prior to concrete pour.
Work with concrete finishers, laborers, and other crew members to complete projects efficiently.
Utilize hand and power tools to cut, shape, and assemble formwork materials.
Inspect completed work for accuracy and quality control.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE.
Assist with general site preparation and cleanup as needed.

Qualifications:

Minimum 2+ years of experience in concrete form setting.
Ability to read and understand construction blueprints and drawings a valued asset.
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License preferred; reliable transportation a must
Familiarity with different types of formwork systems.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
Strong understanding of grades, elevations, and site preparation.
Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
Experience working on municipal road projects, subdivisions, or infrastructure is a valued asset.

Above average pay for Form Setters with 5+ years of gutter/curb experience.
