Kitchen Lead & Morning Baker | Peaked Pies Squamish

Join the opening team of Peaked Pies Squamish!

Peaked Pies began in Whistler with one goal: to bring Australian hospitality to Canada through delicious food and genuine customer service.

As we've grown, one thing has stayed the same—quality matters. Every meat pie, sausage roll and Australian dessert and we serve starts with people who care about the details.

We're looking for a Kitchen Lead & Morning Baker who takes pride in producing consistently great food, keeping an organised kitchen, and helping set the entire café up for a successful day.

We are open for this position to be a part time (24 hours per week) through to full time for the right person. If you are a student and need some flexibility we can offer permanent part time across 4 days per week. Full time (from 32 hours per week) are eligible for Extended Health Benefits. We offer our kitchen team equal share of all gratuities based on hours worked.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll play a key role in preparing the café for a successful day.

Your responsibilities include:

Baking our pies throughout the day to maintain freshness.
Preparing mashed potato, mushy peas and gravy.
Handmaking our desserts and sweets by carefully following recipes.
Managing inventory and ensuring the kitchen is well stocked.
Monitoring food quality, freshness and Food Safe standards.
Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and running efficiently.
Helping maintain beautiful food displays that tempt customers.
Supporting the front-of-house team during busy periods.
Greeting customers with a smile and providing friendly Australian hospitality whenever you're out front.

This is a hands-on role with plenty of variety. You'll spend most of your day in the kitchen, but everyone at Peaked Pies works together to create a great customer experience.

Requirements

Food Safe Level 1
Hospitality, baking, prep cook or kitchen experience is an asset
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Eligible to work in Canada with a valid work permit
